Question: How do I get someone to do something I want them to do?
Answer: (Alex Hormozi) When you want to persuade someone, you want to do four things:
Add good stuff they get for taking the desired action
Take away bad stuff for taking the desired action
Add bad stuff if they do nothing (or something different)
Take away good stuff if they do nothing (or something different)
Bonus persuasion points: make 1-4 happen immediately upon them making the decision. And to be clear, when I say “add bad” or “add good” etc., I mean make them aware of.
I use this 4-part setup as my mental checklist when I try to persuade people to buy stuff or take the next step. Applies anywhere you ask people to do things.
Ex: Desired action→ Come to a workshop so we can help you scale (and meet you)
Good stuff you get: Personalized tactics from my team to immediately grow your business.
Remove bad: No more uncertainty for the next steps. Know exactly what to do next to scale.
Add bad/remove good: Alternatively, stay on your exact course, which may end up being the wrong way to grow. Ex: The fastest path to $1M isn't the fastest path to $10M. We can help you avoid that pain by building it right the first time (because we’ve already made the mistakes so you don't have to).
